Set high up above the Coquet Valley, you will find Ponidhengery Glampsite and which offers one of Rothbury’s best views.

It is here, within our family field that you can experience open grassland, small wooded area, and fantastic views overlooking our Stone Circle to Simonside Hills in the South, and Cheviots to the West.

 

We have been blessed to grow up in this wonderful part of the world and wish to make it accessible to all, something which many glamping sites are not able to do.

Our site is designed to have a low impact on the quiet surrounding area, and includes our ‘Dragonfly’ Pod and ‘Bracken’ Shepherd’s Hut, designed to be as accessible as possible, and situated to ensure privacy from other visitors. Soak up the views and stargaze with very little light-pollution (designated dark-sky site is close by).

Wildlife such as roe deer, rabbits, kestrels, foxes, buzzards, bats and barn owls. can often be seen in the area. Otters, kingfishers, woodpeckers, red squirrels, badgers, stoats, weasels, mink and hedgehogs can be seen, but less often.

 

The River Coquet is close by, and there are also small lakes and reservoirs locally where fishing permits obtained. Bookings for our pod or hut is via AirBnB with a minimum stay of 2 nights, and a discounted offer for booking for a week.

Check in is from 3pm with 10am checkout on departure day. We will always try to accommodate early arrival where possible to allow you to make the most of your stay, just get in touch before your stay and if we can help, we will.

 

We provide a firepit with BBQ for each pod, and can supply you with bags of logs if you require. We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs, but we do ask that they are not left alone in the accommodation, or go on beds or couches. As responsible dog owners, we do expect all mess to be cleared up immediately.

A 15 minute walk to Rothbury village offers a wide range of shops, cafes, takeaways, pubs and restaurants. We have a petrol station, Spar and Co-op all within a mile of Pondihengery.
