DRAGON FLY POD

Pondihengery Glampsite is a small family run site in a rural area, just outside Rothbury, Northumberland.   The site sits on the edge of a stone circle with stunning views. We welcome up to two well behaved dogs. We are striving to make the accommodation accessible so that everyone can enjoy the wonderful area we call home.

The space
Dragonfly is accessible from the moment you get out of your car. Everything is on the level, there is a seating area with a fire pit at the front of the pod. Logs can be purchased at £10 per bag. Please indicate if you would like these provided ready for your arrival.

Inside there is a farmhouse dining table and 4 chairs. There is a generous kitchen space with fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, ceramic hob, air fryer, sink and all the usual accessories.   Tea towels are provided.

There is a double bed and a sofa bed, which could sleep one adult or 2 small children. There is also a chair, which converts into a bed to sleep 1. Please indicate at the time of your booking if you require bedding for the sofa and/or chair bed. There is a small chest of drawers and bedside table. A travel cot and high chair are also available if you have young children (please contact us if you need these). There is a TV and DVD player, with a selection of DVD's available. The pod has a smart heater so is comfortable to stay in all year round.

At the rear of the pod is the accessible wet-room with over head and hand-held shower, sink, toilet and grab rails with towel radiator. Shower seat available upon request. A hand towel and liquid soap are provided, but to reduce our environmental impact, we don't include any other towels. However, these can be provided at a cost of £5 per person per stay, please get in touch before your visit if you require any additional towels.

A small selection of toiletries will be available in case you have forgotten to bring anything.

Additional aids including shower chair, commode, raised toilet seat and frame are available upon request. We also have a travel cot and high chair if required.

Check in is from 3pm with 10am checkout on day of departure.  We will always try to accommodate early arrival where possible to allow you to make the most of your stay, just get in touch before your stay and if we can help, we will.  Your car park is off the road and easily accessible right next to the pod.

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but we do ask that they do not get on the sofa, chair or bed. If they are used to being on bed or sofa - please bring a blanket or similar to protect our furnishings. We ask that they are kept on a lead on the site and of course that any mess is cleaned up and disposed of immediately. We also ask that dogs are not left alone in the accommodation. We charge £20 per stay for dogs.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the glamping pod. They are also welcome to use the rest of the site to relax, picnic, play or explore wildlife. This is a rural farming area and we do sometimes have pigs, cows and sheep in the neighbouring field. There will occasionally be farm vehicles passing through the field, so care is needed, especially for young children.

Other things to note
This is a small site which is slowly being built up. Please bear with us as we slowly grow our lovely little spot.

Fee is from £89 per night with a small commission paid to AirBnB.   Click to book your time in 'Dragonfly' Pod.

What our guests say about Dragonfly pod

"What a wonderful little place! The pod is absolutely delightful, the surroundings and the views are stunning, and the nights offer a beautiful starry sky, away from city lights. The place is immaculate and spacious, so tastefully decorated. Very large bathroom and all you can ask for: from dvds to board games for rainy days, and a campfire with marshmallows that my boys were really grateful for. We made great memories. Thank you Rosie!"
Federica
"I had a perfect weekend stay here, Rosie communicated promptly and organised everything efficiently. It’s a fabulous place to stay, so peaceful and in nature with many birds and a sun deck with its very own stone circle.
Rosie’s family were living close by and very helpful and so welcoming, Northumbrian hospitality is something I will always remember.
The glamping is well appointed with everything you could need, with plenty of books and dvds as well as all the essentials of a wet room, kitchen, and also immaculately clean and tidy.  I will definitely return on my next visit to the area."
Ian
"We had the loveliest time at Rosie's Dragonfly pod. It was more spacious than expected, in a beautiful location and had every little thing that we could possibly need - lovely fresh bedding, brilliantly equipped kitchen, toys, games, marshmallows for the firepit, and a fantastic private playground complete with several swings, a slide, play kitchen & more for the kids. It's gorgeously decorated on a teal/dragonfly theme - it felt really special. Rosie greeted us warmly throughout, was on hand to offer help and suggestions, and was just a pleasure to meet. The area is beautiful and the location is great for exploring Northumberland. We would recommend to anyone and would love to return. Thanks Rosie :-)"
Holly
"Wow what a find, this pod is beautiful. The area is absolutely stunning and private, the garden was so much fun for my daughter to play in and we watched the stars next to the log burner, felt right at home. Rosie was so responsive and friendly, she greeted us upon arival and showed us round the pod. It literally has everything you could ask for and more, you only need to bring clothes! It was absolutely pristine, and had everything from cutlery, dog toys and bowls, children's toys, books, spare toiletries, air fryer, the lot. Can't recommend enough, would book again in an instant."

"The hut is situated in a beautiful location, south facing with wide views across to Simonside. It was very peaceful to sit outside in the sun each evening. It's located quite near to the other glamping pod, but has a big field and extensive play area. Inside is sweet, and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful space-saving touches. It is well equipped and my daughter and I had a great time there. Rothbury is very close with a selection of shops, a Coop and various take-aways, and Rosie was happy to give us recommendations which were useful. There is also plenty of information available about day trips and walking in the area. Thank you, Rosie!"
